Lark Construction

CONSTRUCTION GUIDANCE YOU CAN TRUST

FROM IDEA TO MOVE IN

Independent consulting for homeowners and business owners. We believe in a world where we create spaces for families to share love, success and memories.

On our initial free call we will discuss timelines, expectations, budget, and pain points. If it looks like we are a good fit to collaborate on your project, then we move forward with the audit.

Sometimes a project gets off course. Whether you have tried to DIY or encountered issues with you contractors, it can take an experienced new set of eyes to right the ship.

We will guide you through the entire process including plans, permitting, bid reviews & contractor evaluations. We can also leverage our existing network of preferred contractors, architects and designers.

About Us

After 30+ years of construction experience and numerous calls from friends and family about their construction projects, it became apparent this was an area where people need help. Having navigated renovations from many different angles – as homeowner, contractor, and landlord, I have learned where the pain points are.

“How long should this project take? I was told 6 months and it has been 9 and it doesn’t feel like we are close to finishing.”

“What is a change order?”

“We have already paid the contractor everything we budgeted but we are only half way done.”

“I needed a permit for that?!?”

“I haven’t seen my contractor for 2 months. He says (insert excuse here) but will be back on Monday”

“I’m pregnant” – My wife when we were about 30% through our own DIY whole house gut renovation.

With all of these experiences, combined with millions of dollars of commercial construction management experience, it made sense to use my past pain to help others. Our mission at Lark Construction services it to create a home (or business) that your family loves to live in, stress free.

“We started this company to protect families like ours from construction chaos.”

Why Work With Us?

What’s the difference between you and my GC?

Although I am also a licensed GC, my goal in this capacity is to be your advocate. The best possible outcome is I act as a translator between you and your current GC to get the project done well, quickly and on budget.

Yes, absolutely. We want to meet you where you are at.

That is not our intent. Ideally we will act as your advocate and a translator between your existing contractor if that is what you want. We do have a deep network of preferred contractors if you would like to make a change.

As early in the project as possible. It is impossible for us to turn back time or “unspend” money. But, we recognize that there are many projects that get off track and want to be an advocate for you there as well. We don’t want to be involved in only “easy” projects.

The Power of Mentorship: Building Success in Construction, Sports, and Surgery

The Power of Mentorship: Building Success in Construction, Sports, and Surgery Why Guidance Matters Across the Most Demanding Fields Mentorship is often described as the invisible scaffolding beneath the world’s greatest achievements. Though most visible in the halls of academia and the offices of high-powered executives, for me, mentorship’s truest and most profound impact was found in the demanding worlds of construction, sports, and surgery. In these fields, where skill is honed with sweat, precision, and repetition, the wisdom passed from mentor to mentee becomes not only a roadmap to technical mastery but also a conduit of confidence, resilience, and lifelong learning.

Lessons From a New Bathroom: My Humbling Journey with Plumbing

Lessons From a New Bathroom: My Humbling Journey with Plumbing Why I’m Glad I’m Not a Good Plumber (And What I Learned Along the Way) It started, as most home improvement stories do, with an idea. My first house had only 1 bathroom and I wanted a second. Makes sense when you have roommates and also good for resale, right?? I had already how to frame, tile and run the electric. I just needed to pick up some books on plumbing and I was off to the races. (To be clear, I bought my first house in 2000 and YouTube launched December

The Foundations of Change: What Construction and Renovations Have Meant in My Life

The Foundations of Change: What Construction and Renovations Have Meant in My Life Finding Meaning in Sawdust and Blueprints (and Maybe a Few Splinters) Introduction Let’s be real—when you hear “construction and renovation,” you probably think of dust everywhere, the soundtrack of endless hammering, and that unmistakable smell of freshly cut wood (or is it just panic?). But for me, these aren’t just the ingredients for another home improvement reality show—they’re the backdrop to some of the wildest chapters in my life. A path to growth, escape and love – all wrapped into one (actually many) messy projects.  I mean, who needs
